I'm in western NC, R territory. Don't have cable so no clue about ad spending. But signs are for either candidate are sparse. People aren't declaring themselves much.
As you said Thomas, the debate is crucial. Now that the NC Court of Appeals has ordered Robert Kennedy's name to be removed from the ballot with an appeal to the 5-2 Republican majority NC Supreme Court from the NCSBE likely and the appellate court ruling likely to be upheld another wild card has been introduced. It's also important for NCDP Chairperson and Anderson Clayton and her team to drive up grassroots support and for Gov Roy Cooper and Gubernatorial candidate Josh Stein to point out the other extremist Republican candidates (Michelle Morrow, Dan Bishop, their candidate for labor commissioner etc. Meanwhile next week the GOP Super Majority in the NCGA will please conservative voters by approving more money for opportunity scholarships and passing a law requiring democratic sheriffs in blue counties to cooperate with ICE on immigration detainers. And lets not forget the redundant proposed constitutional amendment stating only US Citizens are eligible to vote, another play to drive the Trump voter turnout. Lot's of work ahead.
I’m in NC and have been seeing DT ads on sports channels (NCAA football games), along with a smaller number of VPH ads. Interesting tactic, since most games involve teams and fans in multiple states.
Leaving RFK's name on increases the likelihood his voters will vote for him rather than Trump. 2000 votes could swing a tight race.
Its ridiculous to allow changes past the deadline. The Board of Elections estimates it'll take 12-13 days, hundreds of thousands of dollars, and maybe miss a federal deadline of Sep 21 to get the absentee ballots out.
Good take on this, Thomas. My NC family are jacked up about this election. They are young women, who have found an issue built to get them and their peers to the polls, namely women's health autonomy. Anderson has done a good job recruiting candidates in rural areas and I feel this might be the key. The incredibly flawed GOP statewide candidates should give us a boost, b/c folks do turn out to vote against bad guys, no matter what pollsters tell us.
I'm in Mecklenburg Co, and we had an event this morning in the South part of the county around Matthews - the church hall was packed to hear the candidates speak and we had people from out of town and even out of state!) canvassing for Nicole Sidman and Woodson Bradey.
We also had several tables set up after the canvassers dispersed for postcarding. We only had about a dozen people who stuck around to write them, but I think we distributed close to 800 postcards this morning.

I’m in NC and there is an anti Harris ad every other commercial!

Is the RFK Jr, "on-off" NC ballot ordeal figured out yet? Is this now a variable of consequence or no?

Trump/Kennedy should be charged for the forced change in ballots.
As I figured. What a dumb mess. More “ick.”
What a year for a political junkie. I’m running out of nails to bite.

I hope Harris/Walz do the bus tour thru either Eastern or Western, NC. I feel like that in person visit could push NC over the edge!
Good info Thomas, thank uou.
They've popped by but I never hear of events beforehand anymore.
There’s lots of ways to get involved and help boost turnout here in NC for those so inclined :).
