Would love to see interviews with young people, veterans, families on a TV Ad saying what my adult children said to me:

"ENOUGH - I don't want a 78 year old, narcissist, sore loser, leading and planning MY FUTURE."

Been there - done that - no thank you.

"But she's not just going to win here (i.e., NC)", PoliticsNC. Oh my! Ever proud to be a native North Carolinian. Will always remember being linguistically and in other ways teasingly mocked during graduate summers on rural teachers scholarship at Middlebury College, Bread Loaf School of English. Too young and curious to be bothered, care, or even familiar with oblique affronts about our Tarheel state. Excited for THIS moment! Concerned always about our smallest, most vulnerable ones--children who see and hear with their childlike intensity while a desperate, deranged man declares the boogey people are coming for your pet dogs and cats to eat them. No, it's not about the economy. It's about moving on from lunacy. Let's lead the way, NC.

I feel it too, Thomas, but having 8 years of experience as a reporter on small circulation daily papers, in southern New Jersey, southwest Michigan (briefly) Hickory and Kingsport Tennessee I saw much evidence that many people vote with their wallets. However as you correctly note voters in the 18 to 35 range are enthusiastic and women aren't too pleased with Roe vs Wade. For Harris to win North Carolina Anderson Clayton, NC Democratic Party Chairperson, must have a good organizational ground game in all 100 counties. I'll grant you this, presidential election will be close here. It's the Council of State races from Lt Gov down through Superintendent of Public Instruction and Allison Riggs Supreme Court race I am most concerned about. A WRAL poll shows Mo Green only two points ahead of Michelle Morrow and that's too close for comfort for our public schools. It would also be nice if the General Assembly had a few less Republicans as the GOP in BOTH chambers needs some humility.

I never would have considered voting for "The Donald", but now I feel obligated to vote against the Democrats. What exactly is it that people now find acceptable that was evidently overlooked when Harris didn't win any support in 2020; and how about those ongoing slaughters the Democrat party supports? Do we just ignore the carnage and select the offering chosen for us by the elites in the party?

Get a Trump supporter out of earshot of anyone else and ask them what they think of Trump. I don’t see him getting more than 44% of the national vote. Third parties might total 4%. And I suspect that’s a bit generous for both.

Indeed! Sometimes gut feelings trump (pun somewhat intentional) polls. We all clung to Nate Silver and the polls in 2016 but my gut feeling wasn't good. This year I can FEEL it. And it feels very positive.

Great observations, especially about consumer confidence and economic trends.

Oh, and, I owe Mark Robinson a thank you note.
