I'm really glad you decided to host this on Substack...while I had the PoliticsNC web site on my collection of news tabs on my browser this has 1) made it easier to keep up, 2) expand the readership and 3) hopefully getting some badly needed attention from the national party apparatus.
It was revolting to see Ted Budd get $13 million from outside interests (IIRC it was Club for Growth) just for the *primary.* We were carpet-bombed with Ted Budd ads on TV to the point where I just stopped watching local channels. The final outcome was sad but not unexpected.
We do have a pretty good bench in NC and Roy Cooper is at the top of my Dream Team. I'm a big fan of Jeff Jackson, too. There's got to be a role for Cooper in the next Biden term at the very least. And I want to see some national DNC attention for Jeff Jackson. He's a good candidate and from what I know (family connections) he's a decent man.
For personal reasons, there's not much I can do aside from making this a paid subscription. But I do have an ActBlue account and I'm not afraid to use it.
