Republicans are dealing with the realization that they've nominated a bunch of unaccomplished, extremist loudmouths to represent their party in November
Well-said, Thomas. North Carolina Republicans are desperate, having nominated extremist losers. With Donald Trump at the top of their ticket, this should give Democrats a chance to sweep the Old North State if they can spark high turnout to match what will probably be low turnout for these characters. Nothing should be taken for granted, but the GOP has given Democrats numerous gifts in NC this year.
Excellent reporting on the North Carolina Republicans. Amazing that two of their top choices (Governor and Public Schools CEO) probably would fail a test on the responsibility of those two positions. Important that the business community, as noted by a previous column, find the candidates for their ballots are not up to par with persons who ran on their ticket in the past. We all should expect candidates for all political party positions should need to demonstrate basic qualifications for positions they are seeking. Jane Patterson 1 pm 3/25/2024
Anyone interested in getting involved in postcarding campaigns for candidates and issues in NC, reach out to me. Lots of other opportunities all over the state to get involved in numerous ways. This is not the year to st on the sideline.
These “ no experience necessary” North Carolinians running for key positions continue to receive national attention. Because they are extreme. Obviously not bright either. This is good. So they can be seen and their rhetoric heard. Still saddens because they make N.C. look bad. I’d prefer to see our Dem contenders given more attention. Because dumb and dumber represent the extremist element—and extremes create feeding frenzy and boost ratings perhaps, the deserving of attention too often overlooked—even ignored.

"The North Carolina GOP’s recruitment slogan is “No experience necessary.” No, it should be "the more ignorant the better".
These are the same people who called Joe Biden a SOCIALIST!
