I think this understates the value of depressing Trump voters out of going to the polls, getting them to stay home. MAGA did that quite well in 2016 with the flaws they found (or simply made up) in Hillary Clinton. Let the MAGAs realize Trump is senile and his sidekick is vicious.

Thomas, we have a black woman of Indian decent as our candidate. Increasing black turnout should be easy especially in the rural eastern third of this state, You also have Don Davis (admittedly more conservative than a normal democrat) running in a toss up Congressional District. I live in Cary, which in addition to being the well known Yankee (not the NY baseball team) containment area has a large South Asian community with Buddhist, Hindu and Seek communities . These should hep drive up Harris' numbers. Turnout among Latino and young voters is the key

Trump up by three—it’s coming—get on the phone, go knock doors, write post cards, reach out to your local party to find out what you can do to move the ball forward.

Here are some suggestions from the NCDP related to Voter protection. I do not know if you must be registered as a Democrat to participate. (I am a registered Dem).

POLL OBSERVERS

Poll Observer volunteers are our eyes and ears at polling sites throughout the state. They provide real-time reports on voter intimidation and other obstacles to voting. You must complete one of these training options:

Virtual training: https://www.mobilize.us/ncvictory2024/event/671083/

On demand training: https://www.mobilize.us/ncvictory2024/event/683522/

ABSENTEE BALLOT COUNT OBSERVERS

Beginning October 1, 2024, county boards of elections across the state will hold meetings on Tuesdays each week to examine absentee ballots for any deficiencies. Count Observers will note how many ballots were rejected, how many were accepted, and for what reasons. Some counties offer remote count observing opportunities. Please sign up here for training: https://www.mobilize.us/ncvictory2024/event/685299/

An on demand version of the training will be available soon.

VOTER ASSISTANCE HOTLINE (1-833-VOTE4NC // 1-833-868-3462)

But they are going to vote. About 86% of them voted. It's the younger women who aren't showing up at the polls.

I am hoping Anderson Clayton will change that!

How this state goes will probably come down to a few thousand or possibly a few hundred votes within the margin of error of any poll. Obama won the state by 14,000 votes. North Carolina voters who are casually half interested (or less) in the election, still wavering, do not realize they probably hold the keys to the whole thing, to whether Trump or Harris wins, and to America's future. The fate of the republic will be decided in places like Nash County (Rocky Mount), which voted for every winner since 2008, by a few hundred votes. I'd like to make a list of bellwether counties and the necessary totals and turnouts in each precinct. "On what slender threads do life and fortune hang." -- The Count of Monte Christo.

Accompany others to the polls too, if you can, I know a lot of people in predominately red areas may either be discouraged to go or worried to some degree about their safety.

It's exactly the same in Pennsylvania where I'm working with the Harris campaign. The polls in both states close early on Election Nighjt so we'll know pretty quickly if Harris's winning groundswell materializes. If it does, we'll be partying by 10, if not it'll be long, long night - or longer. Don't like the sound of that? THEN GET TO WORK NOW. If you can, get out and knock on doors asking people to vote. If you can't or aren't in the state, Mobilize.com has dozens of virtual phone banks you can jump into calling voters around the country. Join one calling voters in North Carolina or Pennsylvania. And get a friend or two to join you making calls. Your effort may well be the difference between winning and losing. It's that simple -- and very, very true.
