I concur, and sadly Budd didn’t even start out with any scruples, so we are doomed with both of them for the foreseeable future. I recently wrote to them and got their milk toast usual responses about how they will vote for Trump’s nominees, conscious of their advise and consent responsibilities. Don’t count on it. Both will just rubber stamp. Am just disgusted.
What is true also is that Tillis (and Budd and all the rest of the Republicans) is that they are also selling our nation down the drain. Our democracy cannot survive having loyalty oaths to the President rather than an authentic loyalty to the American Constitution.
What's good: life offers everyone chance after chance to truly become the most authentic version of her/himself. Wherein lies truest beauty, purpose, and grace.
What's crummy: when any person--politician or otherwise--forsakes the chance to even come close to being genuine and simply succumbs to any which way the wind blows. And becomes empty, only surface.
What's a true gift: decades of life to course correct.
What's a disgrace: when a person condemns her/his own life to one of degradation and cheapens his/her life--especially when that life is supposed to be one of public service. That's sham. That's Tillis.
For MAGA Republicans, "country first" means unwavering loyalty to a controversial figure for job security. This trend will fade, and when it does, reduced social security and Medicare benefits to fund billionaire tax cuts will leave many politicians searching for new jobs.
I've never liked Tillis. Maybe this is the true Tillis. He cares more about his career than our state and country. He certainly doesn't care about the people in Western NC, nor do any of the other Republicans, except possibly 3. But I expect that they'll override Cooper's veto and screw their own. So typical of them.
And finally, there wasn't anything good about Reagan. He started the mess we're in.

Makes we want to vomit. What happened to independent thinkers and checks and balances?
